Khon
Khon is a traditional Thai dance-drama that originated in the royal courts of Thailand. It is a form of masked performance that combines dance, music, and drama to tell stories from Thai mythology and history.
The performers in a Khon production wear intricate masks and costumes that are designed to represent different characters, such as gods, demons, and heroes. The movements of the dancers are highly stylized and precise, and the music is typically performed using traditional Thai instruments, such as the ranat ek (a xylophone-like instrument) and the khong wong lek (a set of small gongs).

The origins of Khon can be traced back to the Ayutthaya period (1351-1767), when it was performed exclusively for the royal court.
